The Way to Trade
by John Piper This is a refreshingly different trading book! Firstly because its price is comparatively modest by trading book standards, secondly because it puts trading psychology where it should be as part of a trading manual i.e. at the front, and thirdly because the author does not claim to have "solved the secret of the markets" but rather appears as he is, a real-world trader who is still evolving and perfecting his trading. His preferred style of trading is to write options and then progressively hedge but even if this is not your cup of tea there are plenty of common sense trading ideas as food for thought. Well worth reading! |
Street Smarts by Laurence Connors & Linda Bradford-Raschke One of the best trading books that I have read in a long time! Larry Connors and LBR are two full time professional traders and money managers who are refreshingly honest about what methods they use. It is very well written with a nice concise style with plenty of examples. Their trading style tends to be short term swing trading so if you are in to long term position trading then it may not be for you. For more information ring: +1-800-797-2584 |

Trading Chaos by
Bill Williams An excellent book on trading and on the meaning of life! The basic approach is Elliot Wave but with plenty of trading tips and ideas to keep non-Ellioticians happy. The last few chapters on the psychology of trading are fascinating: I discovered that I am an Ectomorph body type for example. Definitely worth a read. |

The Compleat (sic) Day Trader by Jake Bernstein This is a nice little book that offers plenty of short-term trading strategies. By the author's own admission, none of the strategies is offerred as a stand alone mechanical trading strategy but it offers plenty of ideas for further development etc. It offers new ways of using conventional technical indicators rather than any new indicators. |
